2 Chainz to perform at NBA Fan Appreciation Day in Abu Dhabi

Etihad Arena will also welcome several WNBA legends.

Basketball fans, prepare to dribble with excitement. The NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2024 are back in town, and they’re bringing a series of fan events and concerts to the capital. NBA Fan Appreciation Day will return to Etihad Arena on Saturday, 5 October, offering you the chance to connect with your favourite players and celebrities. There will also be a performance by rapper 2 Chainz.

Born Tauheed Nasir, 2 Chainz is an American rapper and entrepreneur. Hailing from College Park, Georgia. His rise to fame began in the late 2000s as a member of the rap group “Playaz Circle.” However, it was his solo career that propelled him to stardom. His debut studio album, Based on a T.R.U. Story, released in 2012, was a commercial success, featuring hits like “No Lie” and “I’m Different.” Some of his most popular songs include “Used To” featuring Lil Wayne, “Duffle Bag” featuring Rick Ross, and “Power Trip” featuring Kanye West.

2 Chainz isn’t the only star you’ll get to meet at the NBA Fan Appreciation Day. You’ll also have the chance to get up close and personal with players from the Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets or rub shoulders with WNBA legends Muggsy Bogues, Marcus Camby, Derek Fisher, Sylvia Fowles, Kevin Garnett, Shaquille O’Neal and Mitch Richmond. You’ll also witness some skills challenges, three-point contests featuring your favourite players, and slam dunks from professional dunkers. 

The NBA District will also return to Manarat Al Saadiyat for an interactive fan extravaganza from 3 to 6 October. Meet the stars – Derek Fisher, Muggsy Bogues and Shaquille O’Neal. Shoot some hoops on a full-size NBA court, snap a photo with the Larry O’Brien Trophy, snag limited-edition NBA merchandise and much more. 

The NBA excitement culminates with the Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets coming face to face for two pre-season games on Thursday, 4 October and Saturday, 6 October, at Etihad Arena on Yas Island.
