Saudi Arabia to build 15 new stadiums for the 2034 FIFA World Cup

The football tournament will take place across five cities in the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia is moving at a rapid pace in the sports landscape. The Kingdom has been at the forefront of development, and with plans to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, excitement is at an all-time high. Now, it has been announced that matches will take place across five cities in Saudi Arabia, with 15 state-of-the-art stadiums set to be built.

Saudi Arabia has started developing 15 stadiums across five cities. Starting off with Riyadh, the capital will have eight of these 15 stadiums. Each stadium will have at least 45,000 seats, including the newly announced New Murabba Stadium, ROSHN Stadium, and the King Salman Stadium. The King Salman Stadium is a 92,000-seat stadium that is set to host the final match of the 2034 FIFA World Cup. It’ll feature an entire wall of LED screens that will open to breathtaking views of the capital and its skyline.

Moving further, Jeddah will boast four new stadiums, including the Central Jeddah Stadium. Each will reflect the city’s blend of culture and modernity. Al Khobar, Abha, and Neom are going to participate in this sporting glory. Al Khobar will welcome the recently announced Aramco Stadium, while Abha and Neom will each get one new stadium as well. The 46,000-seater stadium in the Neom Stadium along the Red Sea coast will be perched 350 metres above ground, offering beautiful views of this enormous city and the sea.

This initiative for the 2034 FIFA World Cup not only highlights Saudi Arabia’s passion for football but also aligns with its Vision 2030 plan. Driven by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, it aims to diversify the Kingdom’s economy and enhance sports tourism in the region.

The 2034 FIFA World Cup promises to be a groundbreaking event and pulling it off is no easy feat. But with 15 new stadiums, Saudi Arabia is set to leave a lasting mark on the world of sports and we can’t wait to see how it all shapes up.
