Cristiano Ronaldo-backed TATEL Dubai is opening on 10 June

From football to food: FACT has had a look inside the new restaurant.

Legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is making himself at home in the Middle East. Not only is he playing for Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr FC, but he and fellow sports stars Rafael Nadal and Pau Gasol are behind the restaurant Tatel, which can be found in Beverly Hills, Doha, Madrid and Riyadh. Now, the Spanish restaurant is making its way to the UAE with Tatel Dubai opening in Hotel Boulevard, Autograph Collection, on Monday, 10 June.

The restaurant brand is famous for serving Spanish haute cuisine. The concept draws its inspiration from America’s prohibition era in the 1920s. In 2015, the first branch opened in Madrid, and it can be found around the world in Beverly Hills, Mexico City and Valencia. Plus, the Riyadh branch is a FACT Dining Award winner.

TATEL in Dubai will be a sophisticated space with candles lining the entrance, shades of brown, green and maroon, and live entertainment. The space includes a bar and lounge with a raised DJ booth, a sophisticated dining room with pressed white tablecloths and views of the kitchen, and a large terrace with a gurgling fountain and Burj Khalifa views that will be in demand once outdoor dining season rolls around again.

The menu at TATEL Dubai draws from local ingredients. Highlight dishes include Arroz de bogavante (lobster rice), Gambas al ajillo (prawns in garlic), Risotto TATEL a la trufa (truffle risotto) and Tortilla de patatas trufada (Spanish omelette with truffle).

TATEL in Dubai’s dessert offering includes the signature Tatel World Famous Cheesecake, which is one of the best cheesecakes we’ve ever had. The cheesecake combines a fluffy texture and gooey filling. Plus, the drinks menu includes carefully crafted cocktails and a selection of spirits and wines that pair well with the plates. 

Who knows, you might run into Ronaldo.
