The Streets is set to debut in Dubai this November

Led by Mike Skinner, tickets are available now for the Coca-Cola Arena show.

Dubai is turning up the volume with the announcement that British band The Streets will perform live at Coca-Cola Arena on Saturday, 30 November 2024. Tickets to see The Streets in Dubai are on sale now, and here’s how to get your hands on them.

Led by Mike Skinner, The Streets played a pivotal role in shaping the UK urban music scene in the early 2000s. Their debut album Original Pirate Material (2002) was groundbreaking, merging elements of garage, hip-hop, and electronic music with his distinctive spoken-word style. Skinner’s raw, conversational lyrics captured the everyday struggles and mundanity of working-class life, giving voice to a generation often overlooked in mainstream music.

Hits like “Has It Come to This?” and “Weak Become Heroes” were introspective and street-smart, reflecting on youth culture, clubbing, and inner-city life in a way that felt relatable yet profound. The 2004 follow-up album, A Grand Don’t Come for Free, featured the tracks “Dry Your Eyes” and “Fit But You Know It”, which became anthems for a generation. These songs fused storytelling with social commentary, delving into heartbreak, frustration, and fleeting success.

Skinner’s impact extended beyond the charts. He influenced a new wave of British artists in grime, rap, and alternative music, setting the stage for acts like Dizzee Rascal, Stormzy and Wiley.

The one-night-only show at Coca-Cola Arena is expected to be raw and authentic, with Skinner’s candid lyrics and humorous commentary creating an intimate atmosphere and a chance to experience one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary British music.

Coca-Cola Arena is bringing a host of talent to Dubai this winter. British band Kasabian will rock the emirate on 13 October, American rapper Wiz Khalifa will take the stage on 16 November, Jared Leto’s Thirty Seconds to Mars will perform on 12 December, and Ricky Martin will wow audiences on 14 December.

Tickets to see The Streets in Dubai are available now and are priced at AED 250.
