Eid Al Adha 2024 dates have been announced

UAE and Saudi Arabia will enjoy a four-day long weekend.

You can start planning for your four-day weekend, as the UAE’s Eid Al Adha dates have been announced.

Eid Al Adha falls on 10 Dhul Hijjah. Saudi Arabia sighted the Dhul Hijjah moon last night, making Friday, 7 June as the first day of Dhul Hijjah. This means Eid Al Adha will fall on Sunday, 16 June.

Much like last year, public sector employees are expected to be on an official break from 9 to 12 Dhul Hijjah. This means, from Saturday, 15 June until Tuesday, 18 June, you can relax, unwind and celebrate the Holy occasion with your loved ones. It’s also the last long weekend you’ll get in the UAE this year until December for the UAE National Day — making this holiday the perfect opportunity to make some unforgettable memories with your family and friends. Maybe even plan a staycation.

Similarly, Saudi Arabia will also enjoy a four-day long weekend.

For those wondering what Eid is all about, let us break it down for you. Eid Al Adha, also known as the festival of sacrifice in Islam, is a big deal for Muslims around the world. It falls on the tenth of Dhul Hijjah in the Islamic calendar. Not only does it mark the end of the Hajj pilgrimage, but it’s also a time for Muslims to come together and celebrate their faith and community.

Eid Al Adha begins with the sighting of the moon. The day will commence with prayers at the mosque, visits to family and friends, and of course, the exchange of gifts. But that’s not all. It’s a time to feast like there’s no tomorrow.

And like always, the UAE also has a ton in store for you – like a spectacular display of fireworks happening in multiple locations across the country. So make sure you find yourself the perfect spot.

Gear up for a grand celebration.
