How to watch the Paris Olympics opening ceremony in the GCC

On your marks, get set, Olympics. The 2024 Paris Olympics will take place from 26 July to 11 August. If you can’t make your way to the City of Lights, then here’s how to watch the opening ceremony in the GCC. 

The 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony will take place on 26 July at 5:45pm GST. In the GCC, it will be screened on BeIN Sports. BeIN Sports will broadcast the opening ceremony and events throughout the competitions.

Paris Olympics opening ceremony

The 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony will be held on the River Seine, which runs for more than 700 kilometres through the capital. The parade will run for six kilometres, and depart from Austerlitz Bridge and end at the Trocadéro. The parade will include 10,500 athletes from around the world, and the traditional lighting of the Olympic cauldron. The games will be formally opened by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.

The ceremony is set to be the largest in the world – and everyone is welcome. Fans do not need tickets to access the upper quays, but do need tickets to access the lower quays. Plus, 80 screens and speakers will be situated throughout the route.

The UAE is participating in the Olympics cycling and equestrian competitions. Saudi Arabia is participating in the Olympics equestrian and taekwondo competitions. Dunya Abutaleb has become a trailblazer for female athletes in Saudi Arabia. She has become the nation’s first female athlete to compete in taekwondo at the Olympics.
