Saudi Arabia has put itself on the cultural map with the Red Sea International Film Festival. Previous festivals have been attended by A-list guests from around the world including Halle Berry, Priyanka Chopra, Shahrukh Khan and Will Smith. After Johnny visited the festival, he was impressed with the event and encouraged filmmakers to go to the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia has also previously worked with a range of famous faces. During Riyadh Season, it has used sports stars, from footballer Cristiano Ronaldo to boxer Mike Tyson to promote the festival.

Johnny hails from Kentucky, United States. In 1984, he shot to fame in the horror film, A Nightmare on Elm Street. He later appeared in Donnie Brasco, Fear, Loathing in Las Vegas, and What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. Plus, he has worked closely with the film director Tim Burton, and starred in Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood and Sleepy Hollow. Could he be adding Saudi Arabia tourism ambassador to the CV?
